The Ultrasound Student Assessment (USA) Exam is an test developed by Pegasus Lectures, the same company who provides our Ultrasound Physics textbook.

This exam is designed to be an aptitude test SPECIFICALLY for potential ultrasound students/techs. The purpose of the USA test is to help determine if a candidate is more or less likely to be successful in ultrasound in general, not just in our program. It does this by testing certain skills and attributes that have been heavily correlated to successful ultrasound techs and potential students.

Taking this exam when applying for the program is optional. However, based on applicants who choose to take the exam and their performance it could add up to 50 points to an applicant’s application score.

Taking the USA Exam is Optional

• The test cost of the exam is $70.00. ($50 for the test and $20 to have it proctored)
• If you choose to take the exam you must use the Proctored Option.

• Once you have completed the exam please notify IUD by emailing mgill@iudmed.com. Please include “USA exam” in the subject.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

• This exam is optional
• DON”T PANIC! You cannot “study” for this exam. However, it is important that you take
  this exam seriously try to do as well as you possibly can.
• YOU CAN ONLY THE USA EXAM ONCE.
• This exam is not timed. You can take as much time as you need to complete it. However,
  the the average time to complete the exam is between two and two and a half
  hours.
• The cost to take the exam is $70.00. You must use the Proctored Option.
